Apple already working on a more powerful iPad

Digitimes has reported that Apple will be releasing the next iPad with an ARM Cortex-A9-based processor and 512MB of RAM.  Target date is sometime 1st qtr 2011.  Apparently, Apple will also be launching a 7 inch iPad with a screen resolution of 1024x768.

Depending on how Apple design its Cortex A9-like processor, one can be looking at a 2GHz either single or dual core processor.  So the next iPad will be one very powerful tablet/slate.  Apple is determined to dominate this market.  They will be introducing a second generation tablet while everyone else will be introducing their first generation product.  The competition needs to introduce a top tier tablet if they wish to effectively compete with Apple.

In the same article, it is being reported that a CDMA iPhone will start production in December.  Verizon plans to introduce the iPhone at CES 2011 (1/6/10 - 1/9/11) and start shipping in January.  We believe this could be true as it was recently announced that Verizon's CEO, Ivan Seidenberg will deliver the opening keynote address at CES 2011.  Great time to introduce the iPhone.
