After postponing its launch about 2 weeks ago, Dell has finally announced that it will be launching the Streak on August 13th. The Streak will cost $299.99 with a 2 year contract with AT&T and $549.99 without.
So here are the details:
- AT&T will be the carrier for customers in the United States.
- Pricing: $299.99 with new two-year AT&T contract, and $549.99 without.
- Customers who register for the pre-sale will be able to order a Dell Streak this Thursday August 12.
- Dell Streak will go on sale to the general public beginning this Friday.
For those who registered for the pre-sale will get an email Thursday morning with link to order the device before it goes on sale to the public. The screen is a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen, with a resolution of 800x480. The Streak will be packing a 1GHz Qualcomm CPU, a 5MP rear-facing camera, VGA front-facing camera, micro SD slot and 2GB of internal storage.
Dell has confirmed that it will ship with Android 1.6 (not sure why it is shipping with this old version). They have claimed that Android 2.2 upgrade will be available later this year. How many of you are considering the Streak?
