StreamTV Elocity to launch $399 tablet through Amazon (pre-orders starting 9/3?)

Another company, StreamTV Networks, throws their hat into the tablet ring.  We have heard many companies providing little details about pricing and/or specs.  Even when details are available, we are skeptical.  Until products are actually released, anything can change.  StreamTV is a startup company based in Philadelphia and sells 3D HDTVs through Amazon.  That is all we know as we have found little about this company.  Their HDTVs are out of stock through Amazon so we are a little leery about this unknown company.

However, the Elocity A7 could be a powerhorse with a decent price tag, $399.  So what does this tablet contain?  Lets start off with an 1Ghz Nvidia Tegra II processor (which should be Cortex A9); Android 2.2; ability to encode/decode 1080p video; micro-SD slot; HDMI port; 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and 7" capacitive multi-touch screen.

All this for $399??  Before anyone gets excited, this Elocity appears to be a rebranded Compal NAZ-10, which Aigo (Chinese consumer electronic company) is also rebranding.  Apparently, pre-orders will be taken starting September 3rd through Amazon.  Tablet should launch in October/November.

Here is the official website although there is nothing too much in their site.

For those who are not sure who Compal is, they are a Taiwanese ODM (Original Device Manufacturer) that primarily produce notebook computers and monitors for various large companies such as Dell, HP, Acer and Fujitsu.

We look forward to getting our hands and see its performance.
