Velocity Micro to launch Cruz Reader & Tablet in September

Velocity Micro has finally announced that they are launching the Cruz Reader, Cruz Tablet & the Cruz StoryPad (for the kids) in September.  You can preorder these devices now and will also be sold via retail outlet.  We believe that this tablet would be the first Android tablet to be sold in major retailers.  The retailers are: Best Buy, Bi-Mart, Borders, CompUSA, Costco, Fry's, NewEgg, Sears, TigerDirect.com, and Overstock.com.

The Cruz Reader is due to ship September 8th while the Tablet is due to ship September 27th.  The specs, which are detailed on their website, are as expected although the Tablet will ship with Android 2.1 instead of the rumored 2.2.  What is not known is the processor that Velocity Micro is using on these tablets.  We are trying to get a response from the company.
We will be reviewing the Cruz Tablet when it becomes available.
