Acer Rumored to Launch 3 tablets in First Quarter 2011
According to Digitimes, Acer is going to launch three tablets in the first quarter of 2011. These tablets will have Android 3.0 (Gingerbread) and come in three different sizes: 5"; 7"; and 10". Acer is reportedly deciding between Chinese manufacturers Compal Electronics and Quanta Computer. In addition, Acer is still evaluating whether to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon or Nvidia's Tegra 2 processor for its tablets. However, Acer is planning on first launching a tablet with an Intel processor and Windows 7 "to test the market." Strange way to test the market with a processor and an OS that is not ideal for tablets. We will see.
