Motorola Xoom Is Introduced At CES

The long awaited Motorola Android tablet, known as Xoom, was revealed at the CES in Las Vegas.  So what does Xoom have under its hood?

The spec sheet is showing the following:
  • Android Honeycomb (3.0)
  • 1GHz Tegra 2 dual processors
  • 10.1" capacitive screen
  • 1280 x 800 resolution
  • 5MP rear camera
  • 2MP front camera
  • 720p recording & 1080p video playback
  • 32GB onboard storage
  • 1GB RAM
  • 3G connectivity with upgradeable to 4G
No word on pricing but should be launching in February.

  1. I think the pricing will be a deciding factor as well as customer support. As with any new launch, there will be problems for those who are just starting out in the big world of the internet. That drives questions that are not always hardware related. But, they are questions just the same and deserve a good customer support vehicle to steer them to the information they require.
Another area of concern will be price. This device appears to be loaded with many bells and whistles. That means it cost a fair amount of money in hardware and development.
All in all, I am excited about the release of the Xoom. It will be an early benchmark for other manufactures to use as a high-end standard.
    Just my thoughts... Larry Eberhard
