The Wall Street Journal has
reported that production has started for the next generation iPad. According to WSJ, the new iPad will be lighter and thinner than the original. In addition, it will have a more powerful processor, more memory and a front facing camera. There have been different reports as to whether the new iPad will have the higher resolution (Retina Display) but apparently the new iPad will be similar to the first iPad. This is no surprise as the cost to increase the resolution would be significant.
The iPad is expected to launch in the next couple of months almost in line when the first iPad launched in April 2010. One key difference in this new model's launch will be that the iPad will be available through both Verizon Wireless and AT&T.
