In terms of looks, the iPad 3 will look the same as the iPad 2. However, the hardware inside is where there will be significant differences:
- Retina Display: Apple will finally put its Retina Display (2048x1536) on the new iPad. This will raise cost as the screen is obviously more expensive. We will see if Apple keeps the pricing scheme the same (lowering their margins) or increase the price.
- A6 Processor: Faster and more efficient. Quad Core?? Very possible.
- GPU (Graphics Processing Unit): Improved & Gameplay. Always a good thing.
- Larger & More Efficient Battery: Its a must with a more powerful processor and the Retina Display.
There will be the typical two wireless versions: WiFi and WiFi/Cellular (GSM LTE and CDMA).
Of course, nothing here has been confirmed by Apple so this may change. We'll just need to wait a few weeks to see what exactly the iPad 3 will have.
