Google Nexus Tablet - July Launch?

**Updated** We previously reported that Google will be selling Nexus smartphones and tablets directly.  However, additional information has been leaking regarding the Nexus tablet.  DigiTimes is claiming that the Asus-made tablet has an initial order of 600,000 for possible July launch.  In addition, Google's annual I/O Developer Conference is in June so its possible that the attendees will receive the Nexus tablet as it the normal tradition of Google giving away certain hardware to its all attendees. Last year, everyone received the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet.

The 7" Nexus tablet is rumored to feature Nvidia's quad-core Tegra 3 processors.  With a rumored street price of $200, there will be some sacrifices in the specs or hardware.  It would not be a suprise to see plastic body, low storage capacity (8GB?), and lower resolution screen.  However, nothing has been really confirmed although the Tegra 3 processor seems to be a given.  On the other hand, the Nexus tablet should feature Google's next Android version - 5.0 Jelly Bean.

[Update] - News was released on 5/30 that the Nexus tablet has appeared in Rightware's Power Board benchmark.  Things of interest: model name is Nexus 7 (for the 7" screen"); codename is "Grouper" (Google traditionally gives Nexus or official developer hardware fish names); and interestingly enough Android version 4.1.  Jelly Bean is probably not 5.0 meaning that its not a major revision to Android.  Guess we will find out soon enough.

For $200, would you buy this 7" tablet?
