Startup Enso offering 4 different Slate/Tablet PCs - ZenPad

Most probably have not heard of Enso so I will give you a brief background on the company and then what they offer.  Enso Co Ltd is a startup consumer electronics company based in Hong Kong but with their main offices in Shenzhen City (China).  The company officially was started in January 2010.

Enso started to sell their first product, ZenPad, in March 2010 but had some problems shipping the device.  The orders were delayed due to apparent inability to keep up with demand.  Not sure how many buyers actually have received their orders.  Hopefully, the company has satisfied those orders.

So what does Enso offer?  They have 4 different slates: two (ZenPad 2 & ZenPad 4) are available for shipping now; one (ZenPad) is on backorder; and another (ZenPad 3) is a preorder.

1) ZenPad - the original slate that Enso started to sell in March 2010 but apparently is now out-of-stock.  This has a 5" 800x840 resistive touchscreen display.  It comes with stylus to help navigate through the screens.  ZenPad has WiFi (802.11 a/b/g); Android 1.5 (major weakness); 256MB RAM; 1GB internal mem; Samsung 6410, 533/667MHz processor; 2000mA rechargeable battery; GPS; standard micro USB port; 3.5mm stereo headphone jack; built-in speaker; and micro SD slot.

2) ZenPad 2 - Available now for order.  This also has a 5" 800x840 resistive touchscreen display and comes with stylus to help navigate through the screens.  ZenPad has WiFi (802.11 a/b/g); Android 1.5 (with update to 2.1 imminent - question is when?); 125MB RAM+256MB NAND Flash; Marvell PXA303 624MHz processor; built-in accelerometer; GPS; standard micro USB port; 3.5mm stereo headphone jack; built-in speaker; and micro SD slot.

3) ZenPad 3 - Available for pre-order.  This has a 7" 800x840 resistive touchscreen display and comes with stylus to help navigate through the screens.  ZenPad has WiFi (802.11 a/b/g); Android 1.5 (with update to 2.1 imminent - question is when?); 125MB RAM+256MB NAND Flash; Marvell PXA303 624MHz processor; built-in accelerometer; GPS; standard micro USB port; 3.5mm stereo headphone jack; built-in speaker; and micro SD slot.

4) ZenPad 4 - Available now for order.  Could be a challenger to Apple's iPad.  This has a 10.2" 1024x600 resistive touchscreen display.  ZenPad has WiFi (802.11 a/b); Android 2.1; 256MB RAM; 2GB internal mem; Orphan Cortex A8 1.0GHz processor; built-in accelerometer; 2400mAh battery; standard micro USB port; 3.5mm stereo headphone jack; built-in speaker; and micro SD slot.

Enso is also offering two smartphones: one (ZenPhone) is available now while the other (ZenDorid)is for pre-order.
We would not recommend ordering from the company at this point although their available items are limited in quantity.  Tablet Connect has sent an email clarifying certain things about the ZenPad 4 and asking for a sample to review.  We will provide an update once we hear from the company.
