Citing unnamed sources, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that the so-called BlackPad could be unveiled as early next week at RIM's developer conference in San Francisco. Initially, RIM's tablet was to be called the BlackPad but now appears to be "SurfBook." No official confirmation from RIM but they applied for a trademark on that name. Rumors abound that the device may be delayed until early 2011 due to additional software development. As you may know, RIM will not be using the BlackBerry 6 OS but opting instead for a QNX-built OS. QNX Software Systems was acquired by RIM earlier this year as a possible replacement to its antiquated BlackBerry OS.
