New 7" Toshiba Thrive Launches Tomorrow

On Sunday, Toshiba's new 7" Thrive will go on sale.  No confirmation on price but apparently it will be under $400.  This tablet will run Android  3.2 (Honeycomb) and sport Nvidia's dual core Tegra2 processors.  The 7" screen will sport a nice 1280x800 resolution.  You will have the option of a 16GB or 32GB version.  If you have $400 to spend, get it on Sunday.  Otherwise, you can try to snag a $99 16GB HP Touchpad on eBay also tomorrow.

Toshiba Thrive Tablet Launching in July

Toshiba is another major consumer electronic company that is launching an Android tablet.  Although for a while it was a nameless tablet, Toshiba has confirmed that "Thrive" will be its name.  J&R Music's website did leak some details on this tablet last month.  Now, Toshiba has confirmed the specs and the price.  There will be three versions of the 10.1" tablet:

• 8GB - $429
• 16GB - $479
• 32GB - $579

Leaked Newegg Ad Shows 3 Toshiba Tablets

A leaked Newegg ad shows what appears to details on the unnamed Toshiba tablet that was demonstrated at CES 2011.  There are 3 versions of this 10.1" dual core tablet.  The model numbers are ANT-100, ANT-102, and ANT-104.  They range in price from $450 (16GB) to $580 (32GB).  The ad also provides details on the specs which are noted below:

Toshiba Launching 3 Tablets in 1st Qtr 2011

DigiTimes has reported that Toshiba will be launching three tablets in the first quarter 2011.  These tablets are already scheduled to appear at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next month in Las Vegas.  What is interesting is that Toshiba will be using three different OS: Android, Windows 7 and Chrome OS.  Two of them will have 10.1" screens while the other will have a large 11.6" screen.  Toshiba is also reporting to launch a 7" screen tablet

Toshiba's Android tablet to be named Folio 100?

Website Notebookitalia is stating that Toshiba's Android-powered tablet or "SmartPad" will be named Folio 100.  Apparently "SmartPad" will be referred to a category under which Folio 100 falls under.  Notebookitalia is reporting that the following specs will be associated with the Folio 100: NVIDIA Tegra 2; 10.1" 1024x600 screen; Android 2.2; 16GB internal memory; 3G; 802.11b/g/n; Bluetooth; SD & MMC card ports; HDMI and USB 2.0 ports; and a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

Toshiba to release a Tablet in October

PC Authority reported that managing director of Toshiba Australia, Mark Whittard, showed off a prototype of a tablet that it plans to release in September/October (probably in select countries).  It will run Android OS and Windows 7 but no other specs were provided.  No word on pricing.
