Last year, Archos launched their new series of Android tablets that ranged from a 2.8" to 10.1" screen. In January 2011, we
reviewed the Archos 70 tablet and gave it 3.69 stars out of 5. Now, Archos is launching its latest generation dual core G9 tablets: 8" and 10.1" screens. The 8" is a departure from the standard 7" but actually may be more ideal in terms of mobility.
So what do these tablets pack?
- 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP4 (ARM Cortex A9) processor
- NEON GPU
- 16GB or 250GB internal storage
- 8" supports 1024x768 resolution
- 10" supports 1280x800 resolution
- HDMI port
- Front camera
- Full USB port
- Honeycomb 3.1
- Optional 3G dongle ($49 extra)
- Full Google apps including Android Market
- 1080p
Starting price for the 80 is $279 and for the 101 is $349. Archos may have another winner with these tablets. These are powerful tablets at a great price. Archos stated that these should be available at the end of September.
