Velocity Micro To Launch More Tablets with Android 4.0

     Velocity Micro was one of the first US companies to launch an Android tablet back in November 2010.  They released their second generation tablets about a year later.  We reviewed both the first Cruz Tablet and the second generation Cruz Tablet.  Now Velocity Micro is announcing their third generation Android tablets and will demo them at the Las Vegas CES (Consumer Electronic Show) this week.  These will have Android 4.0.

     There will be two versions: T507 and T510.  Like the second generation Cruz tablets, the last two digits state the screen size.  Here the specs for both:

Cruz Tablet T510

     Overall, the specs are pretty basic and on the low end.  Velocity Micro wants to compete on pricing so the focus is on the lower end market.  These tablets are not meant to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Apple iPad, Asus Transformer Prime and other higher end and higher priced tablets.  The T507 is scheduled to be priced at a very decent price of $150.  No word on the pricing for the T510 but I would guess another $75 - $100 extra.  Both will launch with Android 4.0 but performance may suffer with the tablet having only 512MB of RAM.  We will review these when they launch.
